As a children’s martial arts instructor for the past decade, I’ve learned a lot about how children learn. And I’ve learned that repurposing adult jujitsu curriculum doesn’t always yield the best results.
Kids bring a lot of energy and excitement to the training mat. But they differ greatly from adults in terms of their cognitive processing, discipline, and general memory for techniques. This means that teaching them differently from adults is necessary if you want them to be able to enjoy their training and make progress.
This teacher training program is designed to teach instructors how to engage with kids’ energy, brains, and intrinsic motivation at a level appropriate to their age. I have worked to translate my experience and my enthusiasm for jujitsu into a teacher training program that will allow your instructors and volunteers to be more effective in the time they are spending with your kids program.
Take a day to come to a seminar to learn how you can transform your kids program into a more fun (and safer) version of the gentle art for these kids who are lucky enough to be able to hit the mats.
